In 2021, the Guild voted to wave our annual dues of $20. As time has passed and the Covid situation has improved, we have decided to reinstate the dues requirement for 2022.
If you would like to renew your membership, please go to the MEMBERSHIP page to download the 2022 Membership Form. You can either mail in your check to the address on the form or bring it to the December meeting.
What a great meeting this month! We’re slowly starting to get back to normal. Ten members were present in-person and ten members were watching via Zoom.
Guild members Susan Berteaux and Holly Santangelo provided demonstrations on using specialty rulers and ways to cut flying geese. Both presentations were well received and were found to be helpful in cutting and sewing more complicated pieces. For details and links to products and instructions, go to our EVENTS page.

One of our members shared an interesting and informative article from the Aurifil blog Auribuzz about selecting the correct thread and needle combination to achieve the results you want. The article features Yvonne Fuchs who describes herself as a “former aerospace engineer turned modern quilter, designer, and technical editor.” Yvonne has her own blog QuiltingJetGirl.
You may find this article very helpful when taking on your next project, whether it be machine quilting or taking on your first thread painting project.

The Barnstable County Fair may have come and gone but we want to take this opportunity to thank all the guild members who worked to intake, arrange, and sat with the quilt exhibit this year.

Thanks to our many guild members, we have posted a Show & Tell slideshow that was presented at a recent meeting. Go to our EVENTS page to enjoy the works of our talented quilters.
We’ve been given the OK to meet in person once again. This will be the first in person guild meeting in 17 months. As usual, we’ll be meeting at the Gus Canty Community Center, 790 Main Street, Falmouth. Guild members who feel unsure about the in person meeting will still be able to join us via Zoom using the usual link.

DON’T FORGET! There’s a fair in the air! The Barnstable County Fair is next week, July 19-25 at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds, 1220 Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 151), East Falmouth. Members from our guild as well as other Cape guilds will be on hand in the Exhibit Hall to answer questions about quilting and the quilts on display. Hope to see you there!
2021 FREE MEMBERSHIP
​Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Guild has been meeting via Zoom since February 2020. Up to this point we have not been able to invite presenters but hopefully that will change. We have continued to meet and share projects we are working on and ideas/planning for upcoming meetings/events.

Since we aren’t sure when we may be able to meet in person again, we are waiving our normal $20/year membership fee and offering FREE membership for the 2021 calendar year. Come join the conversation. Go to our Membership page to download a Membership Form.
As with any quilting project, it takes time to decide what you want to make. You may need to consider your skill level and whether you want to stay with what you know or try something a bit more challenging. You might consider who the quilt is for, what pattern(s) you might want to highlight, do you want a traditional look or modern look, not to mention your fabric and finishing choices.
So it is with our new Crazy Quilters of Cape Cod site. I took over the site earlier this year and working with what we had, discovered there were better and more cost effective options. It’s a learning curve, that’s for sure, but hopefully it will become a more informative site for our members and friends near and far.
